* As we are approaching the demise anniversary of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH&HF) and the martyrdom of Imam Hassan Mojtaba (PBUH), Ziaarat Jaami’ah Kabirah would be the best to show our faith, friendship and in just one word, wilaayah to Ahl al-Bait. So, this week, along with the Shia brothers and sisters in Manchester, we will recite this ziaarat which is one of the most recommended activities expected from Shia fellows.
** Due to the e-mail of the Security Office in regard with running Thursday meetings in our previous place, we have been informed that the prayer room of John Foster building is not involved in the Liverpool Student Union, and thus, the students of the other universities are not allowed to use the room. Also, any type of gathering should be held in other places which are officially under the Liverpool Student Union, as this room is only entitled for saying prayers. Therefore, we will run our meeting of this week in the prayer room of James Parson Building, which looks to be under LSU. There is no need to swioe any card to enter this building. When you enter the building from its main gate, turn right and follow the sign posts to find the prayer room at the end of the corridor. For those arriving by car, there are three council parking lots around the area which should be free of charge for parking after 6 pm; however, I would recommend to make sure so.
Please introduce the website to your friends studying or living in Liverpool. Thanks.
Hope to see you all again.

Liverpool Tawhid Centre
The Cultural Affair Section of Iran Consulate in the UK owns some centres under Tawhid Charity which is supported and managed by the above-mentioned organ. Having some centres around the UK, Tawhid Charity has got one in Liverpool. These buildings are normally gathering point for Iranians, and a place for holding their religious and national/ traditional events. The building in Liverpool known as ‘Liverpool Tawhid Centre’ has been provided several years ago; however, being primarily an old building, it had lost its serviceability in course of time so that in the recent years, Iranians were less interested to hold the events there due to issues like security, health, cleanliness, etc. Consequently, the building had changed into some sort of a forgotten one.
In order to activate the building, some of the Iranian students tried to run weekly lectures with inviting lecturers from other Islamic centres like those of Manchester and Birmingham. However, the building needed essential repair and cleaning, as the guests were not feeling comfortable during the events. Negotiations with the responsible people in Iran Consulate did not work, as it was believed that the building was too old to be worth spending money for. The actual idea of such negotiation was to make the building ready for the holy month of Ramadan 2009 so that people living in Liverpool could run their events like ‘eftaari’ in the centre when they could not run it at their own house due to the shortage of space. Also, events like Qadr Nights, birthday and mourning ceremonies of Ahl al-Bait (PBUT) could be performed by the centre itself. Anyway, the building got lost again for several months, as the students were hoping to get some financial helps to relocate the place of Liverpool Tawhid Centre. After months and months, did neither money turn up nor any new place offer.
Again, Imam Hussain’s Muharram created the energy, as “there is a heat in the heart of the faithfuls for martyrdom of Hussain (PBUH), which will never get cold till the resurrection day”. Some Iranian students decided to refurbish the current building very quickly so as to run Imam Hussain’s mourning events in Liverpool in Muharram 2009. These servants of Imam Hussain (PBUH) worked really hard, day and night, to make the centre ready. Though narrow, a stream of financial support turned up from the Iran Consulate, and the guys spent that money so nicely to cover all the needs of the guests of Imam Hussain (PBUH) at the events.
After nearly 10 days of drastic work, the building became fully refurbished, cleaned and decorated for Muharram events. They also could encourage some of the Iranian residents in Liverpool to give hand in completing the mission. Those who have already seen the nasty condition of that old place can easily imagine what big effort should have been made to make it ready for a proper programme. Five mourning ceremony were held successfully with Ziaarat Ashura, lecture, dirge (noha) and perfect supper which was granted by some of residents.
Now, this centre is ready for use, and Liverpool Tawhid Centre manager is very keen to let the Shia people – not necessarily only Iranians – to run their religious programmes there, and thus, hereby, the manager invites Shia people to use the facilities of this centre in Liverpool for the sake of their religious events. The building is totally secured with CCTV, and is perfectly clean and well furbished. Also, the building enjoys a private parking lot off the main road. Kitchen and other basic facilities complete the service list of the centre. Bus service number 17 commutes frequently enough from Queen Square Bus Station at City Centre up to the Everton, HEYWORTH STREET (N-bound) bus station which is just a few steps up the building.
For those who want to visit the building or wish to refer to the building site, the address of the centre is as follows:
Cochrane Street
Heyworth Street
Liverpool
L5 4LJ

* Dua Nodbah is one of those contexts that have been verified by all Shia scholars since it has actually been derived from Ziyaarat Jame’ah Kabirah. Therefore, it is believed that it is as significant as Ziyaarat Jame’ah Kabirah. However, contents of this dua are perfect to bridge the heart of Shia to the “alive and present” Imam’s while the other duas are not this much comprehensive in this regard. This was the base on which it was decided to discuss further on the concept of this dua for some sessions.
Hope to see you all.

Eid Ghadir 2009
In the name of Allah the compassionate the merciful
“Certainly, I just conveyed what I have been ordered to convey as an argument against everyone, be him present or absent, a direct witness or not, and already born or not yet born. Hence, everyone who is present should convey (this sermon) to those who are absent, every parent should convey it to his/her children, (and they should continue to do so) until the Day of Judgement”, has asked the Messenger of Allah at Ghadir event (PBUH&HF).
Thanks be to the Almighty Allah, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH&HF) and Ahl al-Bait that we were successful to celebrate the event of Eid Ghadir next to our Shia brothers and sisters. By the aid of God and Ahl al-Bait, eid event was celebrated on December 6th, 2009, in the place of one of our Shia brothers. Excellence of the event was really outstanding. The house was really fully decorated, and food, drink, cake, sweet, and even firework were provided for the full enjoyment of the Shia people attending Eid Ghadir ceremony to make it as remarkable as nobody would forget such fine feeling for ever.
