Dua Iftitaah

In the Name of Allah the Compassionate the Merciful

Dua Iftitaah

Liverpool Shia Society congratulates commencement of the holy month of Ramadan, the month of blessing, mercy and forgiveness.  Called as the ceremony of the Almighty Allah (SWT), Ramadan is the peak month of the year from its spirituality point f view.  The gates of forgiveness are open side to side; an especial mercy of the Almighty Creator (SWT) showers and He invites all to seek His blessing throughout this holy month, day and night.  Even sleeping time of the faster in this month is considered as he is continuously worshiping the Almighty Allah (SWT).  This is not surprising where the God (SWT) Himself says, “Fasting is [a worship particularly] for me and I myself will be rewarding it [differently].

الصوم لی و أنا أجزی به

One of the elements of worshiping is to pray to the Almighty Allah (SWT) and, in the Islamic concepts, it is known as ‘dua’.  Dua is actually the speech of the servant to his/her Master, Allah (SWT).  However, how?  How should the servant put the words in context to talk and whisper with his/her Master?  The best people who can put the most suitable words, concepts and orders together to connect to the Creator (SWT) are those who have been authorised by the Creator (SWT) Himself to bridge between the creatures and the Creator (SWT).  They are the Almighty Allah’s (SWT) special reasons (hujjat/ hojjat), i.e. the Messenger of Allah (PBUH&HF) and his Ahl al-Bait (PBUT).  The current Imam (may Allah hasten his advent) has issued out a piece of dua, known as ‘Dua Iftitaah’, via one of his representing bodies, Muhammad Ibn Uthman.  Dua Iftitaah contains very high concept and leave an extraordinary impression when recited every night over the holy month of Ramadan.  Paying enough attention to the meanings embedded in this dua assists in understanding and receiving the message of Ramadan, in-shaa-Allah.

Please do remember your family and friends when reciting duas.

TV Discussion on Quran Burning

Burning has been used as a ‘tool’ for centuries when enemies of Islam have not been able to use ‘logic’ to open their ways against Islam.  Within a few hours after the demise of the holy prophet (PBUH&HF), ‘burning’ was used to force the holy Prophet’s daughter and household (PBUT) to unlawfully pledge with the occupiers of the position of the Prophet succession.  The door of Imam Ali’s (PBUH) house was ordered to fire although it was known that the Prophet’s daughter was inside!  And then the doers were called ‘Caliphs of Muslims’!

Just after some years, again ‘burning’ was used by Muslim-called disbelievers to pave their ways to overcome the real meaning of truth and faith, i.e. Imam Hussein (PBUH).  After Imam Hussein’s (PBUH) family and companions were detained in Karbala by Kufi people who had invited him to Karbala, all the men around Imam Hussein (PBUH) were martyred – apart from Imam Sajjad (PBUH) – as well as a few women.  Then the troop of Yazeed (may Allah curse him), ‘burned’ the tents of Ahl al-Bait.

We do not surprise seeing that the house of Bahraini Muslims and the holy Quran are ‘burned’ nowadays.  This has not been invented today; this has been used for years and years.  When the enemies of Islam cannot drive their words using logic, they ‘burn’ Islamic things, being tent of Imam Hussein (PBUH) or Bahrainis’ houses, being Quran or the door of the house in which Quran has been living.

The discussion below is between a so-called pastor, Terry Jones, a jury, another Christian pastor and the imam of Dearborn Islamic Centre of America.  It is interesting to see how knowledgeless Terry is and how ill his ideas are.

Mokhtar-nameh (Mokhtar Narratives) – Farsi with English Subtitle

In the Name of Allah the Compassionate the Merciful

Mokhtar-nameh (Mokhtar Narratives) – Farsi with English Subtitle

Al-Mokhtar Thaqafi (Saghafi) was the head for the rebels who did a massive effort to take revenge from those who martyred Imam Hussain and his companions (PBUT) and captivated the family of Imam Hussain (PBUH).  He was born in 1 AH (the year of the migration of the Holy Prophet (PBUH&HF) from Mecca to Medina) and grew up in Mecca.  His father, Abi Ubayda, was one of the commanders in conquering Persians in the area about East Iraq.  After his father, he settled in Kufa, a new town after Persia conquer.

He was a hardcore Shia of Imam Ali (PBUH) and had served him and his son, Imam Hassan (PBUH).  He had also seen the time of the Holy Prophet (PBUH&HF).  When Imam Hussain (PBUH) did not pledge with Yazid (may the Almighty Allah curse him) and moved towards Iraq, he was in the way of making his mind to support Moslem Ibn Aqeel (PBUH).  However, he was too late and Moslem was martyred before Mokhtar and his gathering reach Kufa.  Although he had decided to welcome Imam Hussain (PBUH), he was unexpectedly jailed by Umayyad.  He was released when the story of Karbala was unfortunately ended and thus, in order to make it up, he prepared for revenge.  This decision put him in a particular way and, creating a revolution, made him much more well-known than he already was.  Mokhtar-nameh serial have actually taken the story into the TV.

The serial has been written and directed by Mr Davoud Mir-Baqeri, the director of the famous serial of Imam Ali (PBUH).  This 40 episode serial has taken eight years to produce, and very famous actors and actresses have been used for the roles.  The serial cost $20m and is considered as the most expensive TV production in Iran.  IRIB3, one of Jaam-e-Jam TV, broadcast the serial in Farsi with English subtitles.

Ziaarat Aale-Yassin

In the Name of Allah the Compassionate the Merciful

Ziaarat Aale-Yassin

Ziaarat (visiting) is one of highly advised means of conversation with the Prophet (PBUH&HF) and Ahl al-Bait (PBUT).  Several types of ziaarat have received to us through the Shia scholars.  We have been asked to visit the holy shrine of the Prophet (PBUH&HF) and Ahl al-Bait (PBUH); however, if one cannot make travelling to the point, s/he can recite the ziaarat from distance.

Ziaarat Aale Yassin is one of those well-known ziaarats appointed to Imam Mahdi (may Allah advent his return).  Its narrator (Abu Ja’far al-Humayri al-Qumi) is one of most famous narrators and is known for his trustworthiness.  As he has lived during the final years of Imam Mahdi’s (PBUH) provisional (short) disappearance (before the long one commenced), he has been in frequent communication with Imam Mahdi (PBUH) through writing.  Imam (PBUH) has given the Ziaarat Aale Yassin as a reply to one of Abu Ja’far’s letters.
